In my last post we learned how to make Maharashtrian Puran Poli, today we will learn how to cook delicious tomato rice. Its really easy, tangy and spicy.

Preparation Time : 30-40 Minute
Cooking Time : 20 Minute.

Main Ingredients :
1. Rice 1 Bowl
2. Tomato 3
3. Onion 1 (Sliced)
4. Green Chili 2 (Sliced)
5. Red Chili 2
6. Bay leaf 1
7. Cardamom 2
8. Garam Masala, Turmeric powder. As per the taste
9. Salt and sugar As per the taste
10. Lemon Juice 1 tsp
11. Oil
12. Asafoetida 1 pinch
13. cumin seeds 1 tsp
14. mustard seeds 1 tsp
Method :
1. Make the tomato puree and keep it aside.
2. Heat the oil and add 1tsp cumin seeds and 1tsp mustard seed and bay leaf.
3. Add pinch of Asafoetida and red chilli and 2 whole Cardamoms.
4. Add sliced green chilli and onions and fry till onions become golden brown.
5. Add Garam masala and turmeric powder and pour the tomato puree in it.
6. Saute the mixture well and add rice in it.
7. Fry the rice and some sugar and salt as per the taste.
8. Add water and cook the rice.
9. Serve it with roasted papad.
